Frequently Asked Questions

Printing FAQs

At Catalyst Graphics, we are often asked about our printing process and products. Below, we have provided answers to some of those most-asked questions. If you have additional questions, please reach out to our team and we’ll be happy to assist you.

What kind of timeline should I expect?

The timeline for your printing project is dependent on several factors.

With more design elements comes longer prep time. Short runs are produced quickly on digital printers, which support fast turnaround times. More complex, highly detailed, or higher-volume projects are done using an offset printer.

What is the best format for submitting my files?

Accepted file formats include ai, eps, jpeg, and pdf.

Files that are set up correctly produce the best possible print results. To ensure your files are optimized for professional printing and finishing, we recommend:

  • Resolution - Minimum 300 DPI
  • Color Mode - CMYK preferred
  • Bleed Area - 1/8” on all sides
  • Safe Zone - Ensure essential content is at least ¼” from all sides
  • Fonts - Embed or outline all fonts.

What processes are in place to reduce errors?

Our experienced and meticulous project managers check artwork, bleed, and resolution on every job before printing. We take great care to ensure images, copy, and alignment are perfect so that your project turns out flawless.

Can you meet a rush deadline?

The short answer is yes.

We utilize digital printing for short runs or fast turnarounds. Our streamlined process turns your uploaded artwork into quality prints quickly and easily.

Should I use digital or offset printing?

The printing process often depends on the printing project. Quantity—and sometimes size— will determine whether a project is printed using digital or offset.

Can you send printed items to my mailing list?

Once we’ve printed your brochures, postcards, flyers, or other materials, we can mail items using first-class, bulk, or EDDM methods.
